Call out for Community Cafe Movers and Shakers!

So the latest news is that the whole cafe came down in the massive storms a couple of weeks ago. To add to this, it seems that communication is not going very well amongst people who may have been interested in making the next cafe date happen. Out of this is a great opportunity to literally build up the cafe and get it rocking again. Anyone interested, especially those who were interested before reading this, please put your contact details down in the comments below, as well as what you want to be involved in.-maurice

The email group is now running. The address is nunnerynewtown@yahoogroups.com. There are ‘daily digest’ aswell as ‘events mail out only’ options. I think you can write to the list asking to be put on. Other wise turn up on July 1st and we’ll collect people’s contacts. So the communication thing is improving, yay!! -jp

11:00 AM	All Day Bike Club DIY Bicycle Maintenance Come down and repair your bike, learn how to fix parts of your bike, hang out, or help at the Nunnery Bike Workshop
12:30 PM	Introduction to Swedish Massage Learn and practice basic techniques, bring oil and a towel
3:00 PM	How can non-Indigenous activists can be better allies with Indigenous activists Ray Jackson Wiradjuri Elder is hosting a workshop on how non-Indigenous activists can be better allies to Indigenous activists and Indigenous struggle.
*4:00 PM*	Citizens of Language ‘a poet will never accept a state and a state will never accept a poet. We’re even. Between the politic and the citizens of language there is a war.’Helen Cixous (Creating a safe space to come together and write with other humans interested in the art of expression through different word crafts – poetry, hip hop, song lyrics, narrative or whatever. These sessions begin with just sitting around writing in nice company, maybe some activities to get it flowing if that’s what peeps are up for, and then end with an open mic for sharing whatever we got. Facilitated by spoken word and hip hop lovers tom (citizen tom) and zoe (lady z).
